Bribe Configuration

The bribe system lets singers pay to move up in the rotation. This is a fun, optional feature that adds revenue for the venue and a competitive element to karaoke night.

Enable Bribe System — Turns the bribe feature on or off. When enabled, singers can bribe from the kiosk or mobile interface to jump ahead in the playlist.

Bribe Cost Rules

Cost per skip (current round) — The base dollar amount a singer pays to skip one position within the current rotation round. This is the starting point for all bribe calculations.

Multiplier for round jump — The cost multiplier applied when a singer wants to jump into an earlier round. For example, with a multiplier of 1.27, jumping from round 3 into round 2 costs more than moving up within round 3. The further you jump, the more expensive it gets.

Highest bribe position — The highest position in the playlist a singer is allowed to bribe into. Prevents someone from buying their way to the very top and cutting in front of singers who have been waiting the longest.

Min time to skip highest — The minimum wait time (in minutes) before a singer is allowed to bribe into the highest position. Set to 0 to disable this restriction.

Min singers in playlist — The minimum number of singers that must be in the playlist before bribing is allowed. Prevents bribing when the rotation is too small for it to matter.

Min bribe cost — The lowest amount a bribe can cost regardless of calculation. Acts as a price floor so bribes are always worth at least this amount.

Bribe Simulator

The right side of the panel is a built-in testing tool. It shows a sample playlist with singers across multiple rounds. The highlighted singer (e.g. "Mike at position 9") wants to move up.

Click any row in the playlist to simulate a bribe to that position. The Bribe Calculation panel on the right will show the cost breakdown and total. Use this to fine-tune your cost rules before going live — you can see exactly what singers will be charged for any given jump.
