Metadata Editor Configuration

Corrects the details of songs in your library. However good your import rules are, some tracks land with the artist and title swapped, a misspelling, or a blank genre — and those are exactly the ones nobody can find when they search.

The Metadata Editor lets you fix them directly, without renaming files or re-importing.

Editing

Right-click a song in the Karaoke or Filler media library and choose the Metadata Editor entry. The editor opens with the current values.

Artist — The performing artist. This is what singers search by most, so it's worth getting right.

Title — The song title.

Album — The album, where it applies.

Genre — Used by AutoFiller and by genre filtering. See also the Genre Tagger, which can fill these in across a whole library automatically.

Year — The release year.

Changes are saved to QUP's database and the library view refreshes, so a corrected song is findable straight away.

Notes

Editing metadata changes what QUP knows about a song. It does not rename or move the file on disk — for that, use File Management, which handles bulk renaming and import formats.

If a whole batch of songs imported wrong, fixing the import format in File Management and re-importing is usually faster than editing them one at a time.
