Reset of KARAOKE window and Singer View on completion of playlist

Pressing buttons and learning to use things. This is a very intuitive program even for ME. Nice job.

Experimenting with getting a singer up. Tried it just right clicking on a song and selecting '

Put myself as a singer, selected a song from media library and had it added to PLAYLIST. (Queued it up)

BAM!!! And it starts.


Happy it worked, so I went and removed the song from the PLAYLIST. ( De-Queued)

Song title, singer and time remaining still scrolling/displayed in singer view window.

Time remaining still shows in KARAOKE window.

(Tried both stopping the song first with the STOP square button in the KARAOKE window, and just de-queueing without stopping. No difference)

Also tried with several songs in the PLAYLIST, the last always remains the same way. I used the 'next song' button in the KARAOKE window to advance through the list.

Is it possible to 'reset' the singer view window and KARAOKE window back to a blank/ready status when the Queue in PLAYLIST is empty? Or if STOP is selected in the KARAOKE window?

And while I am whining about little things, also have it NOT auto start as soon as the song is queued up and added to PLAYLIST? Have it loaded and ready to go, but waiting fora buttonpress on PLAY in the KARAOKE window instead of just starting?

I imagine it would be advantageous to have any song in the queue wait for a START command from the VJ instead of starting when added. Or have it an option should the KJ want/not want this action. I fit IS, apologies, I did not see it anywhere.

I was not kidding about being a n00b just dipping a toe in the water.

Thanks for the detailed write-up, and glad you're finding QUP easy to pick up!

You're right about the leftover display. When the queue runs out, or you stop or remove the last song, the singer view and the KARAOKE window should go back to their blank, ready state, and right now they don't. It's logged as bug #10 and we're working on the fix now. I'll post here when it's in a release.

On your second question, that option already exists. Go to Preferences > General > Karaoke and, in the "Server Options" box, untick "Start Playback Upon First Enqueue" (it's on by default). After that, a song added to an empty playlist waits for you to press Play in the KARAOKE window instead of starting straight away.

toqer, i've been running this at the working men's club on a friday for about a fortnight now and i've done it the other way round tbh... left "start playback upon first enqueue" ticked cos our lass on the mic likes it kicking off the second somebody's put up... and we only ever queue a song when the singer's already stood there so it's not been a problem for us. the leftover display thing i did notice mind... last song of the night just sat there scrolling away while we were packing up the speakers, so i ended up closing the singer view window by hand and reopening it next week and that sorted it. can't say i'd of known about that preferences box though so fair play for pointing it out, might try it at the next quiz night when it's a bit more chaotic. Changes are coming to the idle screen. Custom message instead of just "Initializing" now. Will be in the next release.
