QUP Karaoke Engine v2.25.0 is out.
Update your kiosks before you update the engine. QUP 2.25.0 closes the old way kiosks fetched the song catalogue. That route had no password on it: anything on the venue's wi-fi could download the whole catalogue, including every song's play count. Kiosk 2.25.0 uses an authenticated route instead. A kiosk older than 2.25.0 will not start against a 2.25.0 engine: it shows "Failed to initialize database. Exiting" and closes. Nothing is damaged and nothing is lost -- it starts again normally once the kiosk is updated. Kiosk and engine are published separately, so both need updating this time.
Sound Pads. Eight pads for stingers and sound effects, each with a built-in sound (applause, air horn, drum roll, a "Next singer!" call, happy birthday, last call, rimshot, show intro). The break music dips while a pad plays and comes back smoothly after, and pads never reach the singer's track. Use your own WAV or MP3 on any pad.
LRC lyrics. .lrc lyric files play as karaoke -- two lines, the sung part in amber -- for a local MP3 with an .lrc beside it.
Also: the macOS EQ is no longer clipped, the licence screen says why a key was rejected, and the singer database counts visits.
